Online Checklist

Our online training courses are simple to distribute and monitor. They are a cost effective way to make sure all your whole school community receives regular up-to-date training. With no 'per-user' costs, you can distribute the training to as many staff, parents and pupils as you need and can repeat the training as often as necessary.

Ofsted highlights that staff training and development is one of the weakest aspects of school E-Safety. They also recommend that parents take a role in ensuring their children remain safe online. The E-safety Support online training courses make it easy for your school to ensure you have trained your staff and parents and the reporting tools monitor this for you. With the addition of the pupil training, you can now continue e-safety education outside the classroom too.

Course 1: E-safety for Teachers - Annual Training

Ofsted state in their ‘Inspecting E-safety in Schools’ briefing document that staff training is consistently the weakest area of a schools online safety provision. It goes on to recommend that all staff should receive up-to-date training to reflect current research and advances in technology.

The E-safety Support ‘Online Training Tool for Teachers’, makes responding to this issue simple. The course covers categories of risk, why e-safety is important and definitions of good e-safety practice in school. We make sure the content is up to date and at the end of the training, each teacher is able to print out their own certificate of completion.

The accompanying distribution tool allows you to deliver the training to as many members of staff as you wish and it will also record which staff members have completed the training.

Course 2: Social Media for Teachers - Annual Refresher

Ofsted state in their ‘Inspecting E-safety in Schools’ briefing document that It is important to ensure that social media is being used by teaching staff in line with the school policy and classroom teaching relating to safe use of the Internet.

In this training course, teachers will be helped to understand how to use social media without bringing the school or themselves into disrepute, to know how to avoid exposing the school to legal liability, to ensure that use of social networking reflects ‘safer internet’ practices, be able to minimise any risk associated with the personal use of social media and maintain the school’s standard of behaviour and staff code of conduct in their use of social media.

Course 3: E-safety for Parents

Too often the good work on e-safety within school can be undone by a lack of continuation at home. It is hard for parents to keep up with the changes in technology which affect their children.

Our online training course for parents is a simple introduction to e-safety which will provide some much needed information to help parents start to understand possible e-safety problems and give them a foundation for making decisions about technology usage within the home.

Like all our training courses, distribution is included within the Premium Plus subscription at no extra cost, regardless of how many parents you have within your school community.

As with all our courses, the content will be regularly reviewed and updated to keep abreast of the latest technology trends and applications, making this course a valuable annual refresher for all parents.

Course 4: Get E-smart! - E-safety Awareness for Pupils

Technology is fast-moving, exciting and changing the way we live; giving instant access to information, people, music, games and films. Even better, we can do all this whenever we want using a range of devices.

The joy of technology is that everyone has easy access to it. However, this also means we need to recognise that not everyone or everything is as it seems.

This brand new online training module will teach pupils what to look out for, while they enjoy making the most of the opportunities technology brings.

The Get E-smart! training course was developed by author and educational writer, Steve Martin, and is designed for pupils in key stages 3 and 4.

Completion time - approximately 30-40 minutes.

For schools who don't have email contact with their parents we also have a downloadable training presentation which you can circulate or use at a parents evening or workshop event.
